When it comes to stunning Native American jewelry, our merchandise here at Indian Traders is not just limited to traditional pieces like Native American bracelets, necklaces, and Hopi Indian jewelry. We also have a wide array of beautiful non-traditional Indian silver pieces from which to choose the ideal gift for yourself or another.
Belt Buckles
First used by the ancient Romans, belt buckles are used by almost everyone. But who wants a generic buckle when there are much better options to show off your sense of personal style?
Harrison Bitsui is a local Native American Artisan from the Navajo tribe. He has created a stunning series of silver belt buckles which we offer at Indian Traders. These are based on Navajo and Hopi imagery and style, and they feature turquoise in some designs. These belt buckles suit both men and women and are crafted to fit a standard one-inch belt made from any material.
Bolo Ties
Bolo Ties have been worn in the Southwest since the early 1900s. They were originally a Native American accessory and were made by Native American silversmiths and worn by Hopi, Navajo, and Zuni men to secure bandanas around their necks. These pieces were crafted for personal use rather than trade. Bolo ties became very popular in the 1930s and are now recognized widely as favored neckwear in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Indian Traders has some stunning pieces featuring intricate American Hopi Indian artistry.
Money Clips
A great alternative to a men’s wallet, the money clip is a stylish accessory for discerning men. Did you know that money clips were invented in China in 118 BCE, during the Han Dynasty when bank notes were made from leather? It has also been foretold by the ancients in Mesopotamia and Japan. (Europeans did not begin to use paper money until the 1200s). In the USA, money clips became popular around 1900 and, as they were made of gold and silver, they were exclusively used by wealthier people.
Today money clips are more widely popular and Indian Traders has a vast selection of gorgeous sterling silver money clips featuring everything from Hopi Indian designs, turquoise inlay, pink mussel inlay, coral inlay, stamped silver, and jet inlay. Designed and handcrafted by Navajo, Hopi and Zuni artisans, there is a piece to suit every taste and budget.
