Nike 7 Generations Blanket

The joint effort between Pendleton and Nike has resulted in the production of the 7 Generations Blanket, a collaboration with the N7 Fund. The mission of the Fund is to bring sports to Native American and Aboriginal communities located in the US and Canada. This wool blanket, crafted in the US, symbolizes the past, present, and future of the Native community. The N7 central signifies the effect of each individual on the three generations before and after. A storm pattern with zig zaging lightning is a tribute to culture, while the steps suggest the way to conquer life's hardships. The colors are inspired by traditional dyes and epitomize the gorgeous southwestern landscape. The designer, Dine artist Tracie Jackson, reinforces this idea. Part of the proceeds from the 7 Generations Blanket sales will be donated to the American Indian College Fund, a nonprofit that grants scholarships to Native students and tribal colleges.
